About Our Community
North Vancouver and West Vancouver are two
of Canada's most beautiful and most affluent communities.
Located just five minutes from downtown Vancouver,
at the base of the North Shore mountains, the two municipalities
boast magnificent views of the ocean, the beach, Stanley Park,
and the Lions Gate Bridge. And there isn't a better view of
the downtown city skyline anywhere but here. Chances are,
if you've seen a postcard view of Vancouver, it was taken
from either North or West Vancouver.
West Vancouver and North Vancouver are both
family oriented communities with lots to offer. From skiing
at the top of Cypress, Grouse or Seymour Mountains, to cruise
ships sailing to Alaska from the inner harbour, then along
the shores of Ambleside beach (see our web
cams). Cruise ship enthusiasts, come and visit. The absolute
best place to see the ships sailing in and out is from this
side of the water.
West
Vancouver is home to the communities of Ambleside, Dundarave,
Park Royal, British Properties, Westhill, Camelot, Whitby
Estates, Altamont, Caufeild and Horseshoe Bay (to name a few).
Its scenery is only second place to the hospitality of its
people and business owners.
North Vancouver is home to the communities
of Lonsdale, Deep Cove, Seymour, Delbrook, Edgemont, Lynn
Valley and Capilano. As we said. the views alone are well
worth the trip because the city's main street is exactly opposite
from the cruise ship terminals and convention centre downtown.
When you stroll along the seawall or down
the different village streets, don't be surprised if you see
someone you recognize. West Vancover is the home-away-from-home
for many movie stars, musicians and professional athletes
who are often seen dining in a fine restaurant or just sipping
coffee at the cafes. It is still categorized as Canada's wealthiest
community on a per capita basis. Million dollar monster homes
are easy to find.
North Vancouver is more urban and the streets
bustle with activity. Lonsdale Quay market is full of fresh
items, gift stores and restaurants. Take the world famous
"seabus" from downtown to get there. It's the way
most people on this side of the water get to work in the morning,
and considering it's part of our bus system, it's the best,
and most affordable, little harbour tour you'll find in all
the city. The seabus runs every 15 minutes and the downtown
terminal is also directly beside the cruise ship terminal,
so if you want to get in real close . . .
Lots of year round outdoor activities, recreation, art galleries
and a series of fabulous summer festivals make North Vancouver
and West Vancouver the perfect place to spend a holiday. From
the shopping by the sea, to the dining on the beach, everything
here is less than five minutes away, even on foot.
