Barney Bentall and the High Bar Gang

The High Bar Gang was formed in the spring of 2010 when band member Colin Nairne wanted to play his favourite bluegrass songs and called on his friends Barney Bentall, Shari Ulrich, Angela Harris, Wendy Bird, Rob Becker and Eric Reed to join in. At first delivery, they knew they were a part of something very special. They named their collective and presented their double sell out debut concerts in September 2010.

Since then, The High Bar Gang has sold out 80% of their shows, hosted the 2011 BCCMA Hall of Fame Show, opened for Blue Rodeo at the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver, BC, garnered 3 provincial award nominations in 2012, released their debut record LOST & UNDONE worldwide on True North Records in 2013 with glowing reviews and charted Top 30 on the CKUA radio charts, as well as #3 on the Top 10 national !earshot charts in the Folk/Roots/Blues format.

Each member of the The High Bar Gang brings substance and depth to the group, delivering a unique interpretation of some of the greatest classic and contemporary gospel, bluegrass, traditional country and Appalachian folk songs – timeless music for modern times.
