Lynn Valley Main Library

Margaret’s vision and style is an exploration of both message and medium. From the valley, the rivers, and the rain, to the minute intermingled debris on the forest floor, her paintings speak of the pervasive force of nature to bring both wonder and pathos into focus. She often employs thick layers of oil paint or mixed media and vibrant complementary colours or she will paint and draw using items from nature, like a twig, a feather or the pointed end of a piece of driftwood. Her brush strokes and natural patterns are influenced by the rhythm and beats of the music she listens to while she paints. This experience transports her to a refuge, restoring equilibrium and balance, as if sitting quietly in a dark corner of the forest or at the edge of a waterfall.
