The Lower Lonsdale Business Association and the John Braithwaite Community Centre (JBCC) invite you to celebrate the 6th Annual Lower Lonsdale Fall Festival on Sunday, September 19, 2010 in the 100 block of West 1st Street from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

The festival is a fun community street party that kicks off with a pancake breakfast hosted by the Lower Lonsdale Business Association from 10:00-11:30am. $5 gets you pancakes, sausages, coffee and juice. Main stage entertainment features 2010 Juno Award nominees Bobs & Lolo, whose latest album was nominated for Children’s Album of the Year
http://www.bobsandlolo.com, the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, guitarist Robbie Burns, The Rogue Messengers Band and the Csardis Hungarian Dance Group. A demonstration stage will feature a cooking demo with Chef Mina from A Moveable Feast Catering, fall gardening ideas, belly dancing with Amber and John Braithwaite Community Centre fall dance class demos including: tap, flamenco, social ballroom, Polynesian, jazz and hip hop.

The street will be packed with displays and activities from local merchants and members of the Lower Lonsdale Business Association. Activities such as, the popular Edge Climbing Wall is back so you can challenge yourself for only $2 a climb. The West Coast Society for the Preservation of Reptiles will also be on hand with some of their little friends. Don’t forget to drop by the Information Tent to enter your name in a draw to win vehicle passes from BC Ferries.

New this year will be a contest for who bakes the best apple pie as well as prizes for home grown produce. So bring down that giant pumpkin or perfect zucchini and show off your grandma’s favorite apple pie recipe! Home grown produce can be dropped off at the JBCC between 2:00-5:00pm on Saturday September 18th or on the day of the event between 9:00-10:00am at the Information Tent. Pies will be accepted on the 19th from 9:00-10:00am at the Information Tent.

The Lower Lonsdale Business Association also organizes the Annual Christmas Festival of Lights held December 4th at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue and the Annual Party-at-the-Pier hosted at the Burrard Dry Dock in July each year.
