Cellist Desmond Hoebig, our North Vancouver musical hero, makes his long-awaited return to perform Antonin Dvorák’s Cello Concerto, a grand-scale outpouring of melody and rich romanticism. Our perfect pairing is Franz Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony, an intriguing musical enigma that is at times brooding, musterious, serene and always magnificent.
The Lions Gate Youth Sinfonia bolsters the ranks to open the program with rollicking Hungarian and Slavonic Dances by Brahms and Dvorák.
