Loutet Farm

The North Shore Neighbourhood House’s Edible Garden Project welcomes everyone to our Day of the Honeybee celebration at Loutet Farm!

Activities will include a beekeeping workshop, North Shore Bee Club displays and information, Western Canada Wilderness Committee presentations on the effects of neonicitanoid pesticides on bees, and our usual Farm Gate sales of fresh Loutet Farm produce.  Be sure to visit our farm hives as well and see the bees in action!  Suitable for the whole family.

We depend on pollinators like honeybees to pollinate 80% of the world’s flowering crops.  We have honeybees to thank for one out of every three bites of food we eat, yet most of us know very little about these industrious and incredibly important insects.  Day of the Honeybee is recognized across Canada, and is intended to celebrate and raise awareness of honeybees and the challenges they face.
