Janis has
been living and creating art on the North Shore
for the past 16 years. She uses oil pastel, watercolor
and acrylic to capture her whimsical images.
Her unique style vibrates with colour and energy.
Janis just completed the picture for the WV Harmony
Arts 2002 Festival. Her cottage studio is open
by appointment only.
I am an impressionist in the sense that I am too impatient and emotional
for carefully planned formula renditions. I respond intuitively, and
I am interested in strong essentials, which for me are: Perspective,
colour, spontaneity, passion, power and poetry.
Elizabeth
is a superb draftsman and portraitist, whose
drawings, figure compositions, animal studies,
landscapes and portraits have been exhibited
extensively in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa
and Vancouver. Her work is predicated on
a thorough mastery of Classical drawing.
Art critics have described her work as "unusually
strong" and "masterful". Portrait
commissions by appointment.

A.J.Brown is a visual
artist who does mostly acrylic paintings and
subject matter includes nature, magic, hidden
words and her cats. She is deaf and has cerebral
palsy. Creating is her way to express her soul-voice
in a way that others can hear and respond to.
When she creates, it feels like something spiritual
guides her. Sometimes whimsical, sometimes
serious, always interesting!
