With an Algerian background, his music demonstrates a fascination for his North African roots and flair for the Celtic folk traditions of Western Europe. He has travelled the globe in his 35 year career winning numerous accolades – Best World Music Guitar Player by Guitar Player Magazine, American Association for Independent Music Award for Best Acoustic Instrumental Album, and Grand Prix du Disque Montreux Festival.

His musical roots run deep, conjuring the great Brazilian masters, including Chico Buarque, Milton Nasimento, João Gilberto and Caetano Veloso. His vocals are effortless, refreshingly reminiscent of his idols, with captivating rhythms, featuring delicate and masterful guitar work.
