A co-presentation with the Rogue Folk Club

Described as “one of the most successful and versatile songwriters of the last half-century” (The Guardian), legendary singer-songwriter, First Nations activist, actress, artist and educator Buffy Sainte-Marie is a true Canadian icon. Her songs have been recorded by Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand, Roberta Flack, Neil Diamond and Janis Joplin to name just a few. She has recorded over 20 albums, won an Academy Award (“Up Where We Belong” from An Officer and a Gentleman), a Golden Globe, been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, won a Gemini and two Junos and been awarded countless honorary degrees from universities across Canada. For the last fifty years she has not only continued to entertain audiences world wide with her vibrant live performances, but she has always remained an unfailing, unflinching speaker of the truth in word and song. Don’t miss this very special evening with one of Canada’s most celebrated artists. With Michel Bruyere (drums), Kibwe Thomas (keys), Mark Olexson (bass) and Anthony King (guitars).
