The Ambleside Orchestra will perform the BC premiere of Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov’s Symphony No. 2, Op. 9, the “Antar Symphonic Suite” in its spring concert. Also on the program is Édouard Lalo’s Cello Concerto in D Minor, performed by Ya-Lea Steenkamp, one of last year’s Ambleside Orchestra Award for Young Musicians winners.
Another highlight of the concert will be the announcement and presentation of the 2014 Ambleside Orchestra Awards & Scholarships for Young Musicians.
The Ambleside Orchestra is a growing, multigenerational community orchestra based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Our members enjoy the fun of making music with people of all ages—from fourteen to ninety-something—and from all walks of life.
Under the direction of Nicolas Krusek, we perform an advanced repertoire and work hard to improve our level of musicianship.
We present up to ten public and private concerts of varied orchestral repertoire each year, in community venues across the North Shore and in Vancouver.
