Van Django is an acoustic string ensemble made up of four of Canada’s most talented and eclectic musicians; violinist Cameron Wilson, guitarist Budge Schachte, guitarist/cellist Finn Manniche, and bassist Brent Gubbels.
Van Django’s music is punchy, driving and rhythmically inventive, combining a wealth of musical influences while maintaining their roots in the gypsy jazz made famous by the 1930′s Quintet of the Hot Club of France. Since the group’s formation in 1998, they have toured extensively in Canada as well as international forays to the USA and Europe.

The City of North Vancouver presents “Concerts in the Square”, a new summer concert series. The concerts will take place Shipbuilders’ Square located in the Shipyards area at the foot of Lonsdale, at the City’s waterfront. The concert is free to the public and gates open at noon.

Seven banks on Lonsdale are once again joining together to host a fundraising barbecue. This year, the proceeds will be designated towards LGH Foundation’s $25M campaign to build the Greta & Robert H.N. HO Psychiatric and Education Centre (the HOpe Centre) at Lions Gate Hospital.
$5.00 includes hot dog, drink & bag of chips.
